Description

• Atenolol–Chlorthalidone, contains two drugs that treats hypertension i.e. high blood pressure
• Atenolol + Chlorthalidone, active ingredients used in similar drugs like Tenoretic
• Lowers high blood pressure to prevent strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems and also treats chest pain
• Atenolol, a beta blocker blocks an action of natural chemicals in your body like epinephrine, on the heart and blood vessels
• Chlorthalidone, a water pill helps body to get rid of extra salt and water
• Medicine is composed as white circular conventional tablet and packed as 15 pills per blister pack
• Dosages are available in tablet 25 mg with Atenolol (25 mg) + Chlorthalidone (12.5 mg), 50 mg with Atenolol (50 mg) + Chlorthalidone (12.5 mg), and 100 mg with Atenolol (100 mg) + Chlorthalidone (25 mg),
• Effectiveness can be seen in 1 to 2 weeks of dosages

Directions for Use

Oral drug should be taken once a day before or after meal as prescribed by doctor

• Do not chew this medicine
• Check blood sugar and heart rate regularly
• Not suitable for breastfeeding women
• Not recommended for pregnant women
• Missed dose can be taken before next dose
• Overdose can cause passing out or trouble breathing
• Avoid consuming tobacco and smoking
• Medicine should not be shared with others

Precautions

• Patients with problems related to heart, heart rhythm, blood circulation, kidney, and serious muscle disease should consult the doctor before starting this medication
• Ignore driving or activities which require alertness
• Consumption of alcohol and drugs like marijuana strictly prohibited
• Avoid drinking apple/orange juice after taking this medication
• Get up carefully from sitting or lying position
• Use sunscreen and wear protectable cloths in sunlight
• Do not mix it with other medication like Colestipol

Storage

• Store this medicine at 25^o C or at room temperature
• Do not put it in the direct sunlight
• Keep it away from the moist places like bathroom

Disposal

• Avoid flushing this medicine
• Discard medicine after 6 months or expiry date
• Discard this medicine with proper disposal method
