Terazosin Hydrochloride is a quinazoline derivative with the adrenergic antagonistic property. This active medicine inhibits alpha-1 adrenergic receptors leads to vasodilation. It also decreased peripheral vascular resistance and a decreased venous return to the heart and decreased urethral resistance, which improves urine flow and symptoms related to benign prostatic hyperplasia. It also reduces low-density lipoproteins and triglycerides while maximizing the concentration of high-density lipoproteins.
