Dutasteride / Tamsulosin Hydrochloride is a combination of two active ingredients used to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate. Dutasteride forms a stable enzyme complex and inhibiting the conversion of testosterone to alpha-dihydrotestosterone, the reduction in DHT activity may mitigate or prevent enlargement of the prostate gland. Tamsulosin Hydrochloride blocks the activity of alpha1 adrenoreceptors in the human prostate and bladder neck, it causes smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder neck to relax that improves the urinary flow rate.

Working: A combination of two ingredients Dutasteride / Tamsulosin Hydrochloride restricts the action of an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase. It changes testosterone to another hormone that causes the prostate gland to grow. The active component Dutasteride causes the size of the prostate to reduce. Another ingredient helps relax the muscles in the prostate gland and the opening of the bladder that increases the flow of urine or decrease symptoms.
Uses: This medicinal product is indicated in men for the treatment of the symptoms of an enlarged prostate i.e. benign prostatic hyperplasia-BPH. Dutasteride reduces the size of the enlarged prostate, whereas Tamsulosin, which is an alpha-blocker relaxes muscles in the bladder and prostate. It helps to relieve symptoms of BPH such as difficulty in beginning the flow of urine, weak stream, and the need to urinate frequently or urgently including during the middle of the night.
