Oxybutynin Chloride is a medicinal drug, which is a tertiary amine and anticholinergic agent with antispasmodic activity. This drug acts as the main active component in medicines that exerts its antimuscarinic effect on bladder smooth muscle. It works by blocking muscarinic receptors in smooth muscle so as to inhibit the acetylcholine binding. This leads to a relaxation of bladder smooth muscle, a reduction of involuntary muscle contractions that delays the initial desire to void.

Working: This particular active component Oxybutynin Chloride belongs to a class of drugs known as anticholinergics/antimuscarinics. It works by relaxing the muscles of the bladder that reduces the sudden need to urinate, frequent urination, and leaking in between bathroom visits.

Uses: Given an active component is an effective medication, which is used to treat overactive bladder. It is used to treat symptoms that include, urinating more often than usual, feeling like need to urinate more often, urinary leakage, painful urination, and being unable to hold the urine. Oxybutynin Chloride is also available in an extended-release form. It is also used to treat children ages 6 years and older with overactive bladder induced by a neurological condition such as spina bifida.
