Flecainide Acetate is a medicinal drug called antiarrhythmic, which works by blocking sodium channels that depresses polarization and decreases the induction velocity of the His-Purkinje system. An antiarrhythmic agent indicated for the prevention and treatment of tachyarrhythmia i.e. abnormal fast rhythm of the heart. It plays the role of an anti-arrhythmia drug and treats irregular heartbeat or atrial fibrillation. It is available as a conventional tablet form.

Working: The medicine is an active component used in the drugs. Flecainide Acetate acts by restricting the Nav sodium channel in the heart, lowering the speed of the upstroke of the cardiac action potential. It leads to slowing down the conduction of the electrical impulse within the heart, i.e. it reduces excitability.
Uses: Above mentioned tablet, Flecainide Acetate is approved for the treatment of certain types of serious irregular heartbeat such as persistent ventricular tachycardia and paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia. This medication restores normal heart rhythm and maintains a regular, steady heartbeat. It prevents certain types of an irregular heartbeat from returning. This ingredient is an anti-arrhythmic drug that blocks certain electrical signals in the heart that can cause an irregular heartbeat. It can reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke.
