Action Mechanism

It acts by inhibiting tumor cell signals, reducing cancer cell growth and division. Nexavar decreases the formation of new blood vessels that provide oxygen and nutrients needed for cancer cells to keep growing. After slowing down tumor growth and decreasing the blood supply to the tumor, it prevents the growth and spread of cancer. It is also important to normal cells.

Note
It is not recommended in people with squamous cell lung cancer and who are being treated with carboplatin and paclitaxel.
