The main active component is Everolimus, which is a derivative of the natural macrocyclic lactone sirolimus with immunosuppressant and anti-angiogenic properties. This component is an inhibitor of cell proliferation and an immunosuppressive agent that is used alone or in combination with calcineurin inhibitors to prevent cellular rejection after organ transplantation and in combination with other anticancer agents as treatment of advanced renal cells and other cancers. It is an immunosuppressant and antineoplastic agent. It has a role as an antineoplastic agent, an immunosuppressive agent, and an mTOR inhibitor.
Indications
Everolimus composed of medicine is used to treat various types of cancer such as kidney, breast, pancreas, lung, and stomach/intestinal cancers. Afinitor is also used in people with a certain genetic disorder (tuberous sclerosis complex) to treat certain types of benign tumors in the brain or kidney. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer or tumor cells.
Action Mechanism
This given medication works by targeting something specific to the cancer cells, therefore decreasing side effects caused by unwanted damage to the healthy cells. Everolimus composed drug Afinitor is a kinase inhibitor that inhibits mTOR kinase, an enzyme required for cell growth and survival.
Dosages
