Description
Active Ingredient
This medicine has active ingredient Tranexamic Acid, which is a synthetic derivative of the amino acid lysine with antifibrinolytic activity. It has a strong affinity for the five lysine-binding sites of plasminogen, this drug competitively inhibits the activation of plasminogen to plasmin, leads to inhibition of fibrinolysis; at higher concentrations. It inhibits plasmin.
Indications
Given medication is used short-term in people with a certain type of bleeding disorder i.e. hemophilia to prevent and reduce bleeding from having a tooth pulled. This drug is also indicated in people with other high-risk bleeding conditions to control bleeding at such times as after surgery or an injury, during heavy nosebleeds, or during heavy menstrual bleeding. Cyklokapron helps the blood clot normally to prevent and stop prolonged bleeding. It is an anti-fibrinolytic medicine.

Dosages

- 500 mg: This drug must be consumed orally, usually 2 to 4 times a day or as directed by the doctor

This medicine is given as an infusion into a vein just before the tooth is pulled.
