Description

Active Ingredient: Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate is the main active component of this medicine. It is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor analog of adenosine. This active ingredient is intended to treat HIV and chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) in adults. It is a fumarate salt prepared from equimolar amounts of tenofovir disoproxil and fumaric acid. It can be used in combination therapy for the treatment of HIV infection. It plays the role of a prodrug, an HIV-1 reverse transcriptase inhibitor and an antiviral drug.

Indications: Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate composed medicine is indicated with other HIV drugs to help control HIV infection. This active ingredient helps to reduce the amount of HIV in the body so the immune system can work better. Viread lowers the risk of getting HIV complications like new infections, cancer and improves the quality of life.

This drug is also indicated to treat a certain type of liver infection called chronic hepatitis B infection. It decreases the amount of hepatitis B virus in the body by interfering with virus growth.

Dosages: This medication is made available in a dosage as mentioned below:

• 300 mg: This medicine should be taken orally with or without food as directed by the doctor, usually once daily
