Active Ingredient: Active component of this medicine is Cimetidine. It is a Histamine-2 Receptor Antagonist. It is used in the treatment of acid-peptic disease and heartburn. Indications: Given medication is indicated for the treatment of ulcers of the stomach and intestines. It is also used to prevent from coming back after they have healed. This pill treats certain stomach and throat problems caused by too much stomach acid. It treats a condition like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, erosive esophagitis or a backward flow of stomach acid into the esophagus i.e. GERD). Reducing extra stomach acid relieves symptoms such as stomach pain, heartburn, difficulty swallowing, persistent cough, and trouble sleeping. It can be used to prevent serious acid damage to the digestive system.
Action Mechanism: This H2 blocker medicine blocks the production of acid by acid-producing cells in the stomach.
