It is a quinolinemonocarboxylic acid with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against most gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. This active medication plays the role of an antibacterial drug, a DNA synthesis inhibitor, a xenobiotic and an environmental contaminant.
