Indications

It stops the growth of bacteria. It is recommended for the treatment of bacterial infections only. It is not useful to treat viral infections like common cold, influenza.

Dosages
This medication is available in dosages as mentioned follows:
- 50 mg: This drug is best taken on an empty stomach. Consume this tablet orally as advised by the doctor, usually every 12 hours, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal
- 100 mg: This medicine should be taken every 12 hours on an empty stomach as prescribed by the doctor
Note
This drug can make birth control pills less effective. Consult the doctor about consuming a non-hormonal method of birth control like a condom, diaphragm, spermicide to prevent pregnancy while treating with this medicine.
