Description

This medicine antagonizes beta-adrenergic receptors so as to cause negative chronotropic and inotropic effects. It results in a reduction in cardiac output. This medicine is a nonselective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker widely used for the therapy of hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, angina pectoris, and hyperthyroidism.
Indications: This mentioned medicine is a beta-blocker that affects the heart and circulation i.e. blood flow through arteries and veins. Inderal is indicated to treat tremors, angina, hypertension, heart rhythm disorders, and other heart or circulatory conditions. It can also be used to treat or prevent heart attack and to reduce the severity and frequency of migraine headaches.
Action Mechanism: Given beta-blocker medicine works by changing the response to nerve impulses in the heart and other body parts. Inderal makes the heartbeat more slowly and reducing blood pressure. It helps the heart pumps more efficiently.
Dosages: This beta-blocker medicine is available in dosages as follows:
- 10 mg: It should be taken 2 to 4 times a day before meals or as directed by the doctor
- 20 mg: This drug must be consumed 2 to 4 times a day without food as prescribed by the doctor
- 40 mg: It must be administered 2 to 3 times a day before a meal as advised by the doctor
- 80 mg: This tablet should be consumed 2 times a day as prescribed by the doctor
Note: This medication should not be used in people with asthma, very slow heartbeats, or a serious heart disorder.
