Description

Active Ingredient: Propranolol Hydrochloride is an active ingredient, which is a nonselective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker that is used to treat hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, angina pectoris, and hyperthyroidism. This component used in people with liver disease and cirrhosis. It is a propanolamine that is propane-2-ol substituted by a propan-2-ylamino group at position 1 and a naphthalen-1-yloxy group at position 3. It plays the role of a beta-adrenergic antagonist, an anxiolytic drug, an anti-arrhythmia drug, a vasodilator agent, an antihypertensive agent, a xenobiotic, an environmental contaminant and a human blood serum metabolite.

Indications: Given medication is a beta-blocker indicated to treat high blood pressure, irregular heartbeats, and shaking. Inderal LA is approved for the treatment of heart attack to improve survival. This drug is also used to prevent migraine headaches and chest pain (angina). It prevents strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. It improves the ability to exercise.

Action Mechanism: Norepinephrine is a neurotransmitter used by the sympathetic nervous system to release norepinephrine that binds to beta receptors on other cells. This medicine inhibits the sympathetic nervous system by blocking the beta receptors on the nerves of the sympathetic system. It reduces the heart rate and is useful for abnormal and rapid heart rhythms. This Inderal LA also reduces the need for oxygen by the heart muscle. The heart pain occurs when oxygen demand of the heart muscle exceeds the supply of oxygen to reduce the demand for oxygen, is helpful in treating heart pain.

Dosages: It is available in dosage as mentioned below:

• 60 mg:  It is an extended-release tablet should be taken once a day or as advised by the doctor
• 80 mg: This tablet shall be taken once a day as prescribed by the doctor

Note: This medication should not be used to treat chest pain or migraines when they occur.
