Active Ingredient: Lithium Carbonate is the main active component in this medicine. It shows antimanic and hematopoietic activities. This active component interferes with transmembrane sodium exchange in nerve cells via affecting sodium, potassium-stimulated adenosine triphosphatase. It alters the release of neurotransmitters that affects cyclic adenosine monophosphate concentrations and blocks inositol metabolism. This process leads to the depletion of cellular inositol and inhibition of phospholipase C-mediated signal transduction.
