Active Ingredient: The active component of this medicine is Labetalol Hydrochloride, which is a selective alpha-1-adrenergic antagonist and non-selective beta-adrenergic antagonist that shows vasodilatory and antihypertensive properties. This active ingredient binds to alpha-1-adrenergic receptors in vascular smooth muscle so as to inhibit the adrenergic stimulation of endothelial cell function. This process vasoconstriction in peripheral blood vessels. It also binds to beta-receptors in the bronchial and vascular smooth muscle that leads to a decrease in adrenergic stimulation. This process reduces the exercise heart rates, cardiac output, and in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure to show the effects of vasodilation, negative chronotropic and inotropic cardiac effects.
Indications: Labetalol Hydrochloride composed of medicine is indicated with or without other drugs to treat high blood pressure. Decreasing elevated blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Trandate medicine is both an alpha-blocker and beta-blocker that blocks the action of certain natural chemicals in the body like epinephrine on the heart and blood vessels. This effect decreases the heart rate, blood pressure, and pressure on the heart.
Action Mechanism: This medication is approved for the treatment of high blood pressure and is associated with carvedilol. Nerves from the adrenergic nervous system commit from the spinal cord to arteries where they release norepinephrine. These attach to adrenergic receptors on arteries and induces the arteries to contract, narrowing the arteries, and elevating the blood pressure. The trandate medication blocks receptors of the adrenergic nervous system, it blocks the receptors, arteries get expanded, leads to a decrease in blood pressure.
Dosages: This medication is available in a dosage as mentioned below:
- 100 mg: It is to be consumed twice a day with or without food as directed by the doctor
This medication should be taken with intended exercise, balanced diet, and adjusted dose of diabetes medication.
