Description
Active Ingredient: The main active component of this medicine is Fosinopril Sodium. This medication is an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor that shows antihypertensive activity. It acts by inhibiting the angiotensin-converting enzyme so as to reduce the formation of the potent vasoconstrictor angiotensin II, leads to diminished vasopressor activity.
Indications: This mentioned medicine is indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure i.e. hypertension. Reducing elevated blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. It is also approved to treat heart failure. Monopril is an ACE inhibitor that works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily.
Action Mechanism: This given medicine is an ACE inhibitor, which is an enzyme in the blood which controls the formation of angiotensin II, a chemical that helps circulate in the blood. It also induces constriction of arteries and veins. This constriction of arteries and veins elevates blood pressure. This type of drug i.e. ACE inhibitors work by inhibiting ACE and blocking the formation of angiotensin II. This restriction leads to the formation of angiotensin II. Monopril relaxes the arteries and veins that lowers the blood pressure. It acts by reducing blood pressure, it reduces the work that the heart must do to pump blood through the arteries and veins. This process improves the output of blood from the heart especially when the heart is failing.
Dosages: This effective medication is available for oral consumption in dosages as follows:
- 10 mg: This medicine is to be consumed once or twice a day with or without food as directed by the doctor
