The main active component of this medicine is Pitavastatin Calcium. It is a novel statin that induces plaque regression and elevates HDL-cholesterol levels. It is a developed cholesterol-lowering agent that is related to mild, asymptomatic and self-limited serum aminotransferase elevations during therapy.

Indications

Pitavastatin composed medication is indicated along with a proper diet to help lower bad cholesterol and fats like LDL, triglycerides and raise good cholesterol in the blood. Livalo belongs to a group of drugs called statins that reduces the amount of cholesterol produced by the liver. Decreasing bad cholesterol and triglycerides and maximizing good cholesterol. This leads to a reduction in the risk of heart disease and prevents strokes and heart attacks.

This medicine may be taken with a proper diet like a low-cholesterol/low-fat diet, other lifestyle changes that may help this medication work better including exercising, losing weight if overweight, and stopping smoking.

Action Mechanism

This mentioned medication blocks an enzyme called 3-hydroxy-3methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase. This is an important protein needed in the formation of cholesterol in the body. Livalo reduces total cholesterol, LDL, and VLDL cholesterol in the body.

Dosages

This medicine is made available in dosages as mentioned below:

• 1 mg: It is to be consumed once a day with or without food as directed by the doctor
• 2 mg: This medication is advised to be consumed once a day with or without food as prescribed by the doctor
• 4 mg: It must be administered once a day as mentioned in the prescription by the doctor
