The main active ingredient of this medicine is Furosemide, which is a sulfamoylanthranilic acid derivative, also known as frusemide, and potent loop diuretic. It is used to treat hypertension and edema and highly bound to albumin and is largely excreted unchanged in the urine. This active component is a chlorobenzoic acid that is 4-chlorobenzoic acid substituted amino and a sulfamoyl group. It is a diuretic used in the treatment of congestive heart failure. It has a role as a xenobiotic, an environmental contaminant and a loop diuretic. It is a sulfonamide, a chlorobenzoic acid and a member of furans.
Furosemide composed medicine Lasix is used to reduce extra fluid in the body caused by conditions such as heart failure, liver disease, and kidney disease. This can lessen symptoms such as shortness of breath and swelling in your arms, legs, and abdomen. It is also used to treat high blood pressure. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. This is a “water pill” that causes you to make more urine. This helps your body get rid of extra water and salt.
Given diuretic pill works by blocking the absorption of sodium, chloride, and water from the filtered fluid in the kidney tubules, causing a profound increase in the output of urine (diuresis). The onset of action after injection is five minutes and the duration of diuresis is two hours. The diuretic effect of Lasix can cause depletion of sodium, chloride, body water and other minerals. Therefore, careful medical supervision is necessary during treatment.
