Description
Active Ingredient: This mentioned medicine contains Eplerenone, which is a selective aldosterone receptor antagonist that binds to the mineralocorticoid receptor. The active component blocks the binding of aldosterone so as to decrease the sodium resorption. It increases water outflow. It leads to a decrease in blood pressure. Inspra is useful in the treatment of hypertension and congestive heart failure. It acts as an Aldosterone Antagonist.
Indications: Effective medication is indicated in the treatment of high blood pressure. It acts by blocking a chemical called aldosterone in the body which in turn lowers the amount of sodium and water the body retains. Reducing high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems. It treats congestive heart failure following a heart attack.
Action Mechanism: The main active component in the medicine Eplerenone obstruct the activity of steroid in the body called aldosterone. This aldosterone increases the amount of sodium and water the body retains. This increased sodium and water can lead to high blood pressure, which can, in turn, cause heart failure.
Inspra works by blocking the aldosterone’s ability to increase the amount of sodium and water in the body. It allows for more water and sodium to leave the body.
Dosages: It is available in the various dosages for oral administration. The dosages of conventional tablets are as mentioned below:
- 25 mg: This tablet can be taken once or twice daily, with or without food, or as directed by the doctor
