Description

Active Ingredient: The mentioned medicine is a combination of two drugs Amlodipine Besylate and Atorvastatin Calcium, which acts as the main active ingredient. Amlodipine Besylate is the besylate salt of amlodipine, a synthetic dihydropyridine with antihypertensive and antianginal effects.

This component inhibits the influx of extracellular calcium ions into myocardial and peripheral vascular smooth muscle cells. So as to prevent vascular and myocardial contraction. It leads to dilatation of the main coronary and systemic arteries, reduced myocardial contractility, elevation in blood flow and oxygen delivery to the myocardial tissue. It also reduced the total peripheral resistance.

Atorvastatin calcium is an organic calcium salt of calcium cations and atorvastatin anions in a 1:2 ratio. This component is an anhydrous calcium salt form of atorvastatin, a synthetic lipid-lowering agent.

Indications: This medication is approved for the treatment of treat high blood pressure, chest pain, and coronary artery disease i.e. clogged arteries. It also lowers the risk of stroke, heart attack, and other heart complications. It is recommended in people with diabetes, coronary heart disease, or other risk factors.

It can be used to lower the blood levels of bad cholesterol i.e. low-density lipoprotein and triglycerides and thereby increasing the levels of good cholesterol i.e. high-density lipoprotein.

Action Mechanism:  This high blood pressure treating medicine relaxes the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily. It leads to the lowering of high blood pressure that prevents strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Due to preventing chest pain, it improves the ability to exercise.

Dosages: It is a combination of effective medicines that treat high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels. The dosage is as follows:

Note: Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while treating with this medication.
