Active Ingredient

The main active ingredient is a Prucalopride Succinate in this medication. This active medicine available as a white to almost white powder. It is highly soluble in acidic aqueous media and alkaline aqueous media. It is indicated to treat chronic idiopathic constipation in adult female people in whom laxatives failed to offer adequate relief contains the active ingredient prucalopride succinate. It works on the muscle wall of the gut that restores the normal functioning of the bowel.

This active component is used in medicines to treat chronic constipation. It improves how well the stomach and intestines move food through the bowels during digestion.

Indications

Prucalopride Succinate composed medicine belongs to a class of drugs known as a serotonin-4 (5-HT4) receptor agonist. It is used in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. Motegrity is a medicine approved for the treatment of a chronic idiopathic constipation Idiopathic means without a known cause.

You Should Not Use Motegrity If You Have:

• A Blockage In Your Intestines
• Perforation Of Your Intestines
• Severe Constipation
• Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis)
• Toxic Megacolon

Action Mechanism

Given medication treats chronic constipation. Motegrity is prescribed when other drugs used to treat constipation like laxatives have not provided relief. This medicine works by improving process of passing food through stomach and intestines and the bowels during digestion.

Dosages

This serotonin-4 (5-HT4) receptor agonist medication is available in dosages as mentioned below:

• 1 mg: This drug should be taken orally once a day with or without food as directed by the doctor
• 2 mg: It is to be consumed once a day as prescribed by the doctor

Note

This medicine is contraindicated in people who have a blockage in the intestines, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, or intestinal perforation.
