This medicine contains the active component Itraconazole, which is a synthetic triazole component that shows antimycotic properties. This medication acts by inhibiting fungal cytochrome P450 enzymes which leads to a reduction in fungal ergosterol synthesis. Due to its low toxicity profile, this medication can be used for long-term maintenance treatment of chronic fungal infections. It is a triazole antifungal agent indicated for the treatment of systemic and superficial fungal infections.

Indications

Given medication is an antifungal medicine that fights infections caused by fungus. This effective medicine Sporanox is indicated to treat infections in adults caused by a fungus, which can invade any part of the body like the lungs, mouth or throat, toenails, or fingernails.

Dosages

This medication is available for oral administration in a capsule form in a dosage as mentioned below:

• 100 mg: It must be taken with a full meal as directed by the doctor, usually once or twice a day. This capsule should be swallowed whole

This medication is not advisable in pregnancy, it may inhibit the growth of the fetus. Avoid consuming alcohol while treating with this medicine.
