Active Ingredient: The main active ingredient of the medicine is Baclofen, which is a synthetic chlorophenyl-butanoic acid derivative. It treats spasms due to spinal cord damage and multiple sclerosis, muscle-relaxing. It acts as a gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) agonist specific for GABA-B receptors. It acts at spinal and supraspinal sites, reducing excitatory transmission.

Action Mechanism: This medication is capable of inhibiting both monosynaptic and polysynaptic reflexes at the spinal level, possibly by hyperpolarization of afferent terminals. However actions at supraspinal sites may also occur and contribute to its clinical effect.
Dosages: This medication Lioresal is available for oral consumption and in dosage as mentioned below:
- 10 mg: This medicine is advised to consume with or without food as directed by the doctor, usually 3 times a day
- 20 mg: It is to be taken as directed by the doctor, usually 3 times a day with or without food
