Description

It blocks calcium, relaxes and widens blood vessels so blood can flow more easily.

Plendil is a calcium channel blocker that blocks the calcium in the blood capillaries, relaxes and widens blood vessels so blood can flow more easily through them.
Action Mechanism: The action mechanism of this medication depends on the active component, Felodipine. This active component of Plendil works by preventing the calcium from being released within the muscle cells of the small arteries so as to cause the muscles to relax and the arteries to dilate or expand. Due to the widening of the arteries, blood pressure decreases. It has no effect on the muscles of veins or the heart.
Dosages: This calcium channel blocker medicine is available in following dosages for oral administration:
- 2.5 mg: It is to be consumed once a day on an empty stomach exactly as mentioned in the prescription by the doctor
- 10 mg: Consume this tablet as advised by the doctor, usually once a day on an empty stomach. If stomach upset occurs, it can be taken with a light meal
Note: This medication is not effective if chest pain occurs. It is necessary to consume this medication regularly as prescribed to help prevent chest pain.
