Editorial Policy

TheTopMedStore.com publishes health and medication information to help readers understand their health questions and medicines. Our content is written by Franklin, Sophia Bennett, Lucas Morgan, and Emma Collins. We aim for accuracy, clear language, and transparency. TheTopMedStore.com does not currently have a qualified healthcare professional serving as a formal medical reviewer for its editorial health content. This policy explains how we research, write, check, correct, and update what we publish.

Our Editorial Principles

  • Accuracy: Medical statements must match the sources behind them.
  • Clarity: We use plain language without distorting the facts.
  • Transparency: We state who writes our content, how we check it, and what its limits are.
  • Evidence: Important claims are tied to authoritative sources.
  • Independence: Commercial goals do not change medical facts.
  • Accountability: Named people are responsible for what we publish.
  • Timely corrections: We fix confirmed errors promptly.
  • No exaggeration: We avoid inflated benefits, guarantees, and fear-based claims.

Our content is meant to help readers understand health information. It does not replace individualized professional care. See our Medical Disclaimer for details.

Who Creates Our Health Content

TheTopMedStore.com's health and medication content is written by four health content writers:

  • Franklin, Health Content Writer
  • Sophia Bennett, Health Content Writer
  • Lucas Morgan, Health Content Writer
  • Emma Collins, Health Content Writer

They research topics, review authoritative sources, draft clear health information, fact check against those sources, and update content when reliable information changes. They are not licensed healthcare professionals, and we do not present them as such.

Writers are expected to use authoritative sources, separate established facts from uncertain evidence, avoid unsupported claims, cite sources where appropriate, and flag information that is incomplete or unclear.

Ethan Miller is the founder and Director of TheTopMedStore.com. He oversees the business, website operations, and editorial standards at an organizational level. He is not a doctor, pharmacist, nurse, or other licensed healthcare professional, and he does not provide medical approval of content. You can read more on our About Us page.

Medical Review Status

TheTopMedStore.com does not currently have a qualified healthcare professional serving as a formal medical reviewer for its editorial health content.

Our content goes through editorial checks, and factual claims are compared against authoritative sources. These steps are not medical review. Source verification, fact checking, and editorial approval by non-clinical staff do not replace evaluation by a licensed clinician. Please use our content as general education and speak with a doctor or pharmacist about your own situation.

How We Select Topics

We choose topics based on common medication questions, important safety issues, general health education, gaps in our existing content, changes in official drug information, and commonly misunderstood medical terms. Search demand can help us learn what people are asking. It does not decide how a topic is covered. Accuracy and usefulness do.

How We Research and Verify Content

Our process follows these steps:

  1. Define the topic and the reader's question.
  2. Identify authoritative sources.
  3. Review current prescribing, safety, and regulatory information.
  4. Compare important facts across reliable sources.
  5. Draft the article in clear language.
  6. Verify important claims against the sources.
  7. Run editorial quality checks.
  8. Publish with author and date information.
  9. Review or update when needed.

Important claims include medication uses, dosage, warnings, contraindications, side effects, interactions, pregnancy-related information, regulatory status, and treatment comparisons. Each must match what its source actually supports. We do not exaggerate findings, treat association as causation, present preliminary evidence as established, apply results beyond the population studied, or repeat manufacturer promotional claims without context. When evidence is uncertain or conflicting, we say so.

Sources We Prefer

We prioritize primary and regulatory sources, including:

  • U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
  • DailyMed and official prescribing information and product labels
  • National Institutes of Health and National Library of Medicine
  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, when relevant
  • Other government health agencies
  • Recognized medical and professional organizations
  • Peer-reviewed literature, systematic reviews, and clinical guidelines

Not every article uses every source. Secondary sources may add context but should not replace stronger sources for important medical claims.

For medication pages, we match the source to the claim:

  • Prescribing information and labels: approved indications, dosage, contraindications, boxed warnings, adverse reactions, interactions, and pregnancy or safety information.
  • Government and public-health sources: disease background, safety alerts, and public-health recommendations.
  • Guidelines and professional organizations: standards of care and treatment context.
  • Peer-reviewed research: emerging or comparative evidence and topics regulatory sources do not fully address.

When credible sources disagree, we identify the disagreement and prefer stronger, more current evidence. We do not present unresolved questions as settled, and we do not treat two sides as equal when the evidence clearly favors one.

Standards for High-Risk Content

Dosage. Dosage content must reflect authoritative prescribing information, identify the population discussed (for example, adults or children), and separate approved use from off-label use. We do not give personal dosing recommendations or tell readers to change a prescribed dose on their own. Individualized dosing requires a healthcare professional.

Off-label uses. We label them clearly as off-label, do not imply regulatory approval, and explain uncertainty where it exists.

Safety and warnings. Serious warnings, contraindications, major interactions, and important adverse effects receive prominent, proportionate coverage. We do not bury risks beneath promotional copy, sensationalize rare events, or imply that common side effects affect everyone.

Regulatory claims. Statements about FDA approval, recalls, warnings, controlled status, or prescription requirements must be verified against regulatory sources. A medicine appearing in a database does not mean it is FDA approved. We keep the regulatory status of a medicine separate from that of a pharmacy or seller. Our content is US-focused. When we reference guidance from other countries, we identify it and do not treat FDA, MHRA, and TGA requirements as interchangeable.

Statistics. Numbers must come from a dated, identifiable source with the right population, jurisdiction, and context. We keep qualifiers and avoid false precision.

Writing and Content Standards

We write in clear US English at roughly an 8th-grade reading level where possible, using short sentences and descriptive headings. We do not sacrifice accuracy for simplicity. We avoid clickbait, guarantees, fear-based language, minimized risks, and absolute safety claims.

Our content must be original. We do not copy or lightly rewrite other pages, reproduce copyrighted material, or fabricate quotes, studies, statistics, experts, or patient stories.

Images and charts must accurately reflect the content, avoid implying guaranteed outcomes, include descriptive alt text, and identify data sources where applicable. Links must serve the reader. We favor authoritative external sources and do not use competitor sales pages as medical evidence.

Editorial Review

Before publication, content receives editorial review. Checks include grammar, readability, factual consistency, source matching, unsupported claims, contradictory information, terminology, links, formatting, and required disclosures. We call this editorial review, content review, source verification, and fact checking. It is not clinical, physician, or pharmacist review.

Publication Dates and Updates

Substantive health content shows the author and the original publication date. Where meaningful changes have been made, it also shows a last updated date. We change that date only after meaningful review or revision, not for minor formatting edits.

We do not follow a fixed review schedule for every page. Instead, we review or update content when triggers arise, such as:

  • New FDA warnings or safety communications
  • Prescribing-information changes
  • Significant regulatory changes
  • Updated clinical guidelines
  • Important new evidence
  • Identified errors
  • Broken or outdated sources
  • Reader reports of factual problems

Because updates depend on these triggers, some pages may be out of date. Please check the dates and consult official sources for current information.

Corrections

When an error is reported or found, we:

  1. Review the issue.
  2. Verify it against authoritative sources.
  3. Correct it if confirmed.
  4. Update related content where needed.
  5. Add a correction note when the error was material and readers would benefit from knowing.

We do not silently change significant medical errors when a correction note would be appropriate.

Reporting an Error

Readers may report factual inaccuracies, outdated information, broken source links, unclear wording, attribution concerns, or potentially unsafe statements. Please contact our editorial team through our Contact Us page and include the page address and the source you believe is more accurate. We evaluate each report against reliable sources, so not every suggestion will lead to a change.

Editorial Independence and Commercial Influence

TheTopMedStore.com is an online pharmacy, and we separate editorial content from commercial content. Product availability does not determine medical conclusions. Pricing does not influence safety information. Commercial interests do not override evidence. We do not hide risks to improve sales, and our articles do not tell readers that a medicine is right for them personally.

Editorial content includes medication information, health articles, safety information, and educational guides. Transactional content includes product listings, pricing, ordering, shipping, and discounts. Medical facts stay consistent across both, and calls to action must not interrupt or weaken safety information. If we publish sponsored content or enter affiliate relationships, we will disclose them clearly.

Contributors must disclose financial, commercial, or professional conflicts that could materially affect content. Undisclosed commercial influence should never determine medical conclusions.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

AI tools may assist with outlining, editing, readability, language refinement, organization, and research support. AI-generated claims are never accepted automatically. Medical statements must be checked against authoritative sources. AI is not a medical reviewer, and it may not create citations, credentials, or expert opinions. Final responsibility for published content rests with identifiable human contributors.

What Our Content Cannot Do

Our content does not diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, make individual treatment decisions, create a doctor-patient relationship, replace a physician or pharmacist, or provide emergency assistance. If you think you are having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number. See our Medical Disclaimer for more.

Responsibility and Accountability

Ethan Miller is responsible for business oversight and operational standards. Franklin, Sophia Bennett, Lucas Morgan, and Emma Collins are responsible for the research, drafting, and source-checking of the content they author. Editorial quality checks are non-clinical. Medical review is not currently part of our process, and no one at TheTopMedStore.com is presented as providing clinical responsibility for editorial content.
