Description

Active Ingredient: This medication is a combination of two ingredients i.e. Amlodipine Besylate and Olmesartan Medoxomil. Ingredient Amlodipine Besylate, a calcium channel blocker is the besylate salt of amlodipine, a synthetic dihydropyridine with antihypertensive and antianginal effects. It inhibits the influx of extracellular calcium ions into myocardial and peripheral vascular smooth muscle cells. So as to prevent vascular and myocardial contraction. It also shows a modulate multi-drug response activity through inhibition of the p-glycoprotein efflux pump.

Olmesartan Medoxomil, an angiotensin receptor blocker is a synthetic imidazole derivative of the property of an antihypertensive property. It is converted to Olmesartan after hydrolysis. Olmesartan binds to the angiotensin type 1 (AT1) receptor of angiotensin II in vascular smooth muscle and adrenal gland. Due to this, it prevents angiotensin II-induced vasoconstriction and reduces aldosterone production, so as to prevent aldosterone-stimulated sodium retention and potassium excretion.

Indications: This medication is approved for the treatment of high blood pressure. Azor Lowers elevated blood pressure that prevents strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Both the active ingredients in this medicine act by relaxing blood vessels so blood can flow more easily.

It has a unique medical agent designed to block angiotensin II, a natural chemical in the body that can elevate blood pressure. It tightens and narrows the blood vessels. It widens and relaxes blood vessels to get blood pressure lower.

Dosages: This effective combination of two medicines used to high blood pressure effectively. Azor is available in a dosage as follows:

• Amlodipine Besylate 5 mg+ Olmesartan Medoxomil 20 mg: Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually once daily
• Amlodipine Besylate 5 mg+ Olmesartan Medoxomil 40 mg: It is to be consumed orally with or without food as directed by the doctor, usually once a day

Note: Take certain drugs like cholestyramine, colesevelam, colestipol to lower the cholesterol with a gap of 4 hours while treating with this pill.
