Active Ingredient: The active component in this medicine is Etidronate Disodium. It is a synthetic diphosphonate analog of endogenous pyrophosphate. It acts by adsorbing to hydroxyapatite cells and reduces the number of osteoclasts so as to inhibit abnormal bone resorption. It also stimulates bone formation by osteoblasts. It plays the role of a bone density conservation agent, an antineoplastic agent and a chelator.
Indications: This drug is composed of Etidronate to treat a certain type of bone disease called Paget's disease. This condition weakens and deforms bones. This medicine slows the process of bone loss, helping to keep the bones strong and less likely to break. Didronel reduces bone pain from this disease.
Etidronate is also used to prevent or treat bone problems that may occur after hip replacement surgery or spinal cord injury.

Note: Avoid this medication while consuming food or other medications because they may prevent its absorption. It should be taken 2 hours before or 2 hours after consuming any products that contain aluminum, calcium, iron, magnesium, or zinc.
