Polaramine is used to treat sneezing; runny nose; itching, watery eyes; hives; rashes; itching; and other symptoms of allergies and the common cold.
What is to be taken care of while consuming Polaramine?
Use alcohol cautiously, as it might increase drowsiness and dizziness while consuming this medicine. The medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness. In case one might experience dizziness or drowsiness, avoid activities that need alertness.
What other drugs will affect Polaramine?
Do not take Polaramine in case of consuming a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) like isocarboxazid (Marplan), phenelzine (Nardil), or tranylcypromine (Parnate) in last 14 days. A very dangerous drug interaction could take place leading to serious side effects.
What happens in case of overdose?
Symptoms of Polaramine overdose include extreme sleepiness, confusion, weakness, ringing in the ears, blurred vision, large pupils, dry mouth, flushing, fever, shaking, insomnia, hallucinations, and possibly seizures.
