What Simvar is used for?
Simvar is used in people who have coronary heart disease (CHD) or who are at high risk of CHD for example, if they have diabetes, a history of stroke, or other blood vessel disease.
How does Simvar work?
Simvar belongs to a group of medicines known as HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors. It works by reducing the amount of cholesterol made by the liver. In terms of good and bad cholesterol, SIMVAR reduces the bad cholesterol and raises the good cholesterol.
When and how to take Simvar?
Take Simvar once a day in the evening with or without food as prescribed by the doctor.
What if forget to take a prescribed dose?
Take a missed dose as soon as remembered. Avoid if it is almost time for the next dose. Do not double dose to catch up a missed dose.
Is Simvar safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women?
Simvar is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. It may show adverse effects on unborn baby or nursing infant.
