What is Ranihexal?
Ranihexal is in a group of drugs called histamine-2 blockers. Ranihexal works by reducing the amount of acid your stomach produces.
What is Ranihexal used for?
Ranihexal is used to treat and prevent ulcers in the stomach and intestines. It also treats conditions in which the stomach produces too much acid, like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
What else is taken care of with consumption of Ranihexal?
Ranihexal also treats gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions in which acid backs up from the stomach into the esophagus, causing heartburn.
How to use Ranihexal?
Take Ranihexal tablets with a full glass of water (8 oz/240 mL). If consuming itraconazole or ketoconazole, ask the doctor or pharmacist how to take it with Ranihexal tablets. Avoid take other antacids while using Ranihexal tablets without first checking with doctor.
What if a dosage of Ranihexal is missed?
If a dose of Ranihexal tablets is missed, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
