What is Eltroxin used for?
Eltroxin is used for treating hypothyroidism or underactive thyroid; a condition in which the thyroid gland does not make enough thyroid hormone (thyroxine) needed to regulate your body’s growth and metabolism.
How does Eltroxin work?
Thyroxine regulates the production of another hormone known as thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) that in turn controls how much thyroxine is produced. Eltroxin tablets 100mcg regulate TSH production in the same way and therefore substitutes for a lack of endogenous thyroxine (produced by the thyroid gland).
What does Eltroxin contain?
Eltroxin contain the active ingredient levothyroxine, which replaces the lack of endogenous thyroxine (produced by the thyroid gland) to regulate normal growth and metabolism.
When should Eltroxin not be used?
If consumer is diabetic taking antidiabetics or insulin, without discussion with your doctor, as Eltroxin may affect your glucose tolerance.
How should Eltroxin be taken?
Take Eltroxin once daily with water on an empty stomach, preferably 30 minutes before eating breakfast.
