What is Cortef?
Cortef is a steroid medicine used for treating many conditions like allergic disorders, skin conditions, ulcerative colitis, arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, or lung disorders.
How does Cortef work?
Cortef affects your immune system and is is often used for treating certain blood cell disorders like anemia (low red blood cells) or thrombocytopenia (low platelets).
What are the side effects of Cortef oral?
Hydrocortisone side effects depend on the dose, the duration and the frequency of administration. Long term, high doses of Cortef usually will produce predictable and potentially serious side effects.
Which drugs or supplements interact with Cortef?
By interfering with the patient's immune response, hydrocortisone can impede the effectiveness of vaccinations. Cortef interfere with the tuberculin skin test and cause false negative results in patients with tuberculosis infection.
