Cyclomen is a man-made form of a steroid. Danazol affects the ovaries and pituitary gland and prevents the release of certain hormones in the body.

Cyclomen is used to treat endometriosis and fibrocystic breast disease. Cyclomen is also used to prevent attacks of angioedema in people with an inherited form of this disorder (hereditary angioedema).

How does Cyclomen work?
Cyclomen works by decreasing the amount of hormones made by the ovaries. These hormones usually make the conditions worse. For the treatment of angioedema, danazol shall help to increase the amount of a certain protein in your body's defense system (immune system).
What are other uses for this medicine?
Danazol is also sometimes used to treat idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura, an ongoing condition that may cause easy bruising or bleeding due to an abnormally low number of platelets in the blood
