The medicine works by binding with the phosphate in the food you eat, so that it is eliminated from the body without being absorbed.
What is the dosage of Phoslo?
The recommended initial dose of this medicine for adult dialysis patient is 2 gelcaps with each meal. Increase the dose gradually to lower serum phosphorus levels to the target range, as long as hypercalcemia does not develop. Most patients require 3-4 gelcaps with each meal.
