Description
Active Ingredient
The main active ingredient in this medicine is Abacavir Sulfate. This active component is approved to treat HIV infection in adults and children 3 months of age and older. It shall be used in combination with other HIV medicines.
The ingredient belongs to a group of HIV drugs called nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). These drugs block an HIV enzyme called reverse transcriptase. Through blocking reverse transcriptase, it prevents HIV from multiplying and can reduce the amount of HIV in the body.
Indications
The NRTI medicine is used in combination with other antiretroviral agents. It is indicated for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus infection. It is always used with other HIV medications to help control HIV infection. It decreases the amount of HIV in the body so the immune system can work better.
It helps to lower the risk of getting HIV complications like new infections, cancer and improves the quality of life. It does not cure for HIV infection.

Action Mechanism

- 300 mg: This medicine should be taken with or without food as directed by the doctor
